Need some DVX100 advice.

Hey all,

I am in the market for a small cam to shoot some recent projects I have been hired to do. I will be shooting a lot of footage all over the place so portability is key. I have not been able to find any local dealers where I can go and try out the new pana. It really seems to have most of the features I want in a camera of this price range. Everything I have been reading is good and no one who gets a hold of this camera seems to be disappointed. My question is: how does the image hold up in 60i mode? I shoot most of my footage in 60i and am leaning toward a PD150. However, if the DVX100 is as good or better than the 150, I will get one. I have never shot with a PD150 but have seen several programs shot with that camera and the footage is very good and clean. If anyone has experience with both of these cameras and they can give me some insight I would really appreciate it. FYI, I shoot a lot with an XL1 and I like the images but for 60i that is going to broadcast it is too soft.

Thanks,

Everything I've read to date indicates that the DVX100 is perfect for 60i. I'm assembling some reports for a DVX100 sub-site on dvinfo.net, which should be ready soon.

I think your looking at the top 3 cameras in this market segment. In 60i they are very, very, similar. Since size is an issue I would probably go with the DVX100 vs. PD150 or XL1. There is a substantial sharpness difference between the XL1 and XL1S so I wouldn't discount it as not broadcast worthy.
