New DVX200 firmware released

Hey all, FYI, the DVX200 got a firmware update today, to version 1.25.

The biggest changes are that it adds new "Fast Scan" modes to largely eliminate any rolling shutter concerns; the 4K/24P and UHD 23.98/25/29.97 modes all have a new "Fast Scan" option. The normal modes are still there and provide the widest field of view and the most resolved detail (using about 13 million pixels to make their image, about 5022 x 2824 or so); the "Fast Scan" options scan a 9 megapixel 4096x2160 (for 4k/24p) or 3840x2160 for UHD. That reduces the total # of pixels that need to be read in, and results in faster chip scanning and less "rolling shutter" effect.

They've also adjusted the color accuracy especially in skin tones, and most especially on overexposed skin. Hot overexposed skin would lead to a "yellow halo" around the burned-out section of the image; that is greatly reduced in the new firmware; now skin highlights roll off smoothly to white.

Additionally, they really cleaned up the image in UHD/4K quite a bit in terms of shadow noise. This results in overall smoother, cleaner images with a more pleasing texture to them.

There are a few little bug fixes and such also, but the above are the main points.
