chroma keying on the 100a.

So I have a dvx100a and I am currently in the writing stage of a shortfilm. We have decided that some of it will be shot infront of a green screen. I started reading stuff about chroma keying after we decided this and didn't see much postive regarding using a minidv camera to do it because apperntly dv doesn't have very much color information right? Anyways we will be usining a proffesional studio to do the shots so I figure we should still be able to get good results if done properly so basically here are the questions.

Are there any settings on the dvx that will make chroma keying easier?
Higher Chroma level, chroma phase or color temp? diffrent gamma setting?
most likley the shots will be desaturated to b/w in post after the chroma keying if that helps.

any other information I should know about anything related to this would be greatly helpful, anything at all.

thank you very much.

You should ask about this on dvxuser.com you could probably even find examples there.

You can view some DV green screen samples I threw together on my web site:
www.philipwilliams.com

Just follow the "Green Screen DV" and "Chroma Tutorial" links. If you read those you'll see I used a single chip cam with the worst possible lighting in front of neon green poster board.

With proper lighting and the right software you'll probably get good results. If in doubt, run your own simple test with some poster board and a couple of lights.

Good luck!
