Anybody Got some reviews on the Panasonic AG-DVC7

I was looking at this camera and saw that it was pretty cheap but i also see that it doesn't have 3CCD Technology in it also. why does this camera cost just as much as the others if it doesnt have the 3CCD in it. if anybody has any knowledge of these camera please inform me of any Advanages or Disadvantages with this camera. Im was thinking of purchasing this but wantes some opinions on it first. Thanks Guys!!!!

Everything I've read about it says not to bother.

Ditto.

What he said :)

I read in a magazine (Videomaker or EventDV) about two years ago that this camera is really a single-CCD consumer camcorder dressed up in a larger, shoulder-mount housing that isn't very sturdy. I can't think of a good reason to use one.

Gosh, that sounds harsh. I love Panasonic's products, but this one has me stumped.

The dvc7 was/is designed and purpose built as a students camera for schools, rugged enough to take that use and good enough quality that most other 1 chip ccds consumer cams won't look as good. for that use it excels as it has every thing needed to teach film students and let them make good looking first films. Secondary to that it's performance is enough for a budjet entry level wedding/event videographer, more manual controls, good low light and features geared for that use so they can get the buisness off the ground and quickly move up to better cams. Remember here looks matter alot and going in with a DVC7 will at least make the person look like they know what they are doing and the video is no worse than the consumer cams others will have ( well unless it's a gs400, optura 600 etc ). It also would serve community cable tv and cable access tv use very well if they are on a budjet.

Now if you asked me would I buy one, NO, would I reccomend one, for the above YES! for uses other than the above NO.
