Edge enhancement
I've seen some DVX100 footage and stills at different sites, and some of them have to much 'edge enhancement'.
When I say 'Edge enhancement' I'm referring to this: http://www.videophile.info/Guide_EE/Page_01.htm Is it possible to lower this through the camera controls? Thanks in advance and sorry for my poor English. |
Yes, you can control (and turn off) the artificial sharpness or 'edge enhancement' of the image. It is called 'detail level' on the DVX100.
Should you be interested, here is a link to the camera's operating manual: ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/pub/Panasoni..._AG-DVX100.pdf HTH, Clayton |
Keep in mind that artificial sharpening (specifically the v component) introduces/enhances line twitter and other artifacts which make the picture very unreal on high performance displays. Thats why I don't like Pansonics' standard settings which are optimized for low end and small displays.
