GH2 720 file size

The GH2 shoots at two data rates in 720, either 17mbps or 24mbps. I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but that is close.

Does anyone know what, if any difference there is in resulting file size of the clips between shooting in these two modes?

I ask because we have a shoot today and we have to watch our card space, and I don't have a lot of time to test right now. Anyone know?

I don't believe the GH2 shoots 720 in 24Mbps

Here is a chart. Just use a 32gig card and you won't run out for 3 to 4 hours depending on your settings

Jim, how dumb, I forgot it the GH2 offers 24mbps only in 24p mode, which I'm not using. Thanks, I'll be fine with two 32s and a 16. Have a great weekend.

Jim, thanks for the good wishes, and you can count on hearing about it! My GH2 actually will not turn on, it died, and I've contacted Panasonic and they assure me they will replace it pronto, I'll ship it tomorrow probably.

The good news is I have a friend who has a GH2 and a GH1 and we were already going to use them, and in addition I'm taking an FX1 as well which I borrowed last night before I knew the GH2 had malfunctioned.

Ed is letting me shoot with his GH2, and with the FX1 I know we'll at least have something useable!

It might have been Guy who recommended taking a video camera, and believe you me, there is not doubt that is a good idea!

Between you, Guy, Waldi, Brian, and many others, I'm at halfway prepared to use the GH2, so off I go in about an hour!
