Why do you think its better than the Pana 14mm f/ 2.5?

It is bigger, I see that, but I find the 14mm pancake a nice little lens.

Thanks Jeff.

The same lens is sold by Bower, Rokinon, Samyang and a couple of others.

I'll just add though that this is an all manaul lens, which means it's not necessary to have either the Olympus or Panasonic 4/3rds adaptors to use this lens to it's full potential. Any adaptor will do and you can use any lens mount version of this lens via cheap adaptors, including Canon, Nikon and Pentax.

I am familiar with a 7mm fish eye similar to this one, and I intend to buy it at some point. The are so inexpensive!

Is there a reason this lens would be preferable to the Panasonic 14mm f2.5, which is micro 4/3 and therefore would not require an adapter on the GH1 or GH2?

Actually, good question, probably not. On the other hand the 7mm fisheye by Rokinon, and other manufacturers would be lots of fun.

The post was probaby unnecessary, the F/2.8 is what jumped out at me, but I'm sure it's not a remarkable lens.

I was thinking the exact same thing. They cost the same, too.

I'm still waiting for someone to post some results with the 7mm Rokinon. Anyone tried it yet?
