AF100 EF Lens adapter offering electronic control coming in January

From Erik Birger of Birger Engineering: "January is the new target for volume shipping. We'll have first articles out to ...our dealers before the end of the year."

Do not know how compatible the adapter will be with the GH2, one can only hope.

Good question. I'm on the notification list, still waiting. You should sign up to if you haven't.

Re: AF100 EF Lens adapter offering electronic control coming in January

Delivery on this adaptor has been promised so many times over the past year. Birger had been entirely silent since November so I finally lost patience & cancelled my order. I have my AF101 up for sale plus all the Canon FD lenses. I found using the Canon FD lenses on the GH2 seriously unbalances it & makes it feel really bad in my hands. Canon EF lenses aren't quite as big & heavy as the FD lenses which are mostly metal & built like tanks but they would still way too large. I much prefer to use the Panasonic lenses that are designed for the camera as not only do they communicate with the camera for AF etc but also are small & light.

I am a big advocate of Panasonic and Olympus lenses on the GH2 also. Since the appearance of the 25mm, 45mm and 12mm I just don't need anything else most times. I learned a lot more about photographic techniques using the FD lenses than I would have otherwise, but do not miss them at all.
