GH2 firmware 1.1 @25p hmdi > external recorder?
 

Hi all,

Played with a new GH2 with the 1.1 firmware this weekend. Love lots of things about the camera but the high compression lets it down a bit.

When I hook up a Small HD monitor output looks like clean 1080/25p. I'd love to know if anyone can confirm the 25p (albeit in a 50i wrapper) output of the new firmware 1.1 can be captured without a hitch to outboard recorders like the Sound Devices Pix or the Ninja.

I know there are hacks available, and I know these above devices are bulky and expensive relative to the camera. However to me there are advantages in recording straight to Prores and having high quality audio embedded with footage, not to mention additional monitoring and file backup.

So to me, the cost is worth it if it works. I have to carry an SD722 recorder around for audio anyway, so it would just be replacing one box with another. I've heard there were cadence issues with the firmware 1.0 24p output, hoping it's a different story in 25p/50i wrapper.
