GH4's Higher Rez EVF and Display Screen vs GH3

How is everyone that had or has the GH3, and has purchased and taken possession of a GH4, enjoying the considerably higher resolution in the displays of the GH4?

GH3 EVF OLED 1,744,000 GH4 EVF OLED 2,359,000

GH3 Display "LED" 610,000 GH4 Display "OLED" 1,036,000

(specs are from B&H on each, including how they name the 3" display screen)

For video I have a loupe I like a lot on the GH3's LCD, but with no peaking. I would "assume" that an OLED display with considerably higher resolution, and peaking, with a good loupe would "ROCK" for manual focus. Is this the case? And same of course with the EVF, mainly for still photography.

Please share your impressions for how much easier to focus with the higher resolutions.

Thanks

No one has any impression on the new higher rez displays with the GH4 for manual focussing? I see there are some new owners here already posting about other things. Did you come from the GH3 or still have it? This is a pretty big performance upgrade, along with the peaking, I would think?

Very significant improvement! Image is much brighter, clearer, and it is easier to get the eye in the "sweet spot" for best results. Just got my GH4 a few hours ago and for now I've left focus peaking ON, I don't really need it on the GX7.

On the GH3 and GX7 I'm used to having the magnified assist at full screen, on the GH4 so far it seems to be set for a magnified view in a small "window" but clear enough to use. That small magnified assist window on the GH3 was not clear enough for me to see focus but no problem on the GH4. I haven't tried a loupe on the LCD yet but I expect that to be very much improved also.

Thanks for your input Bruce. That sounds "great", and is what I expect to see.

Speaking of which I should be able to give my own feedback on the better LCD, with peaking and with this Hoodman Cinema Kit Pro loupe below, which I love on my GH3 along with the battery grip, by the latter part of next week. Hi quality optics and it flips up out of the way so you can use the LCD flat against the back of camera or extended outward and pivoted. Very robust as well.

B&H and Amazon after their initial shipments have had the GH4 on pre-order status again for a number of weeks. I only several days ago put my name in the hat with my credit card at B&H and whoa….look at that, just got an email this morning it has shipped. So if there were a lot of buyers stacked up from the first batch who didn't get shipped plus orders since then when the reviews and user reviews started coming out, they must have gotten a nice sized new batch in.
