Fhugen Cage and Carryspeed VF4 Loupe
I now have both and the loupe will attach to the GH4 with the cage in place. Loupe a bit fiddly, as always, and a check necessary from time to time that all is tight, as always.
As I got the cage to protect the micro-HDMI socket which looks very vulnerable, and to attach my Swit monitor, the loupe would be redundant for me but it does fit. Ron |

Any chance you can post a picture?
I'd be keen to see one. Cheers, |
Re: Fhugen Cage and Carryspeed VF4 Loupe
The cage or the loupe or both?
I now only use the loupe on my FZ1000 , which more portable than a GH4 with its lenses, and unlike the GH4 does not have live feed to a monitor. Ron |
Re: Fhugen Cage and Carryspeed VF4 Loupe
Hi Ronald,
I meant both. I have the same cage on my GH3 and most of the loupes are not compatible with the cage. I would really prefer a viewfinder eyecup rather than a loupe on the LCD screen but finding a suitable one has so far proven fruitless. Cheers. |
Re: Fhugen Cage and Carryspeed VF4 Loupe
@Ronald,
Can you monitor 4K 24P with your swit? Apparently my swit monitor will not display 24p or 23.976, only 29.97p. |
Re: Fhugen Cage and Carryspeed VF4 Loupe
My Swit HDMI monitor down resses the UHD (25p) picture off the GH4, it the ( GH4) actually posts a message to that effect when first connecting and switching on.
The image quality is fine for composition and focussing, the latter either via the cam's peaking or the Swit peaking (on my Swit "plus"). Another advantage with a monitor is of course being able to use both eyes. The Swit will show a pic off my FZ1000, but this blanks out as soon as record button(or remote) is pressed. Pic re-appears as soon as pause is pressed. That's why I've attached the VF4 to the FZ1000, that plus increased mobility. Will try to post a loupe pic this week. Ron |
