Exposure control for fisheye wide angle lenses
 

Looking at either a 7-14mm Lumix w/a or one of the 7.5mm w/a lenses.
None can take an external filter. I find that a polarizer is the minimum I need in bright daylight, I do not like being forced into high shutter speeds and/or small apertures to control exposure.

Do I have any options to control exposure? What I would like is an ISO of 12 instead of 200 as the minimum.

That would totally fly in the face of those who want a higher base ISO for better low light performance, which is why the Sony A7r is so good in low light.

There will never be the perfect camera!

There are third party solutions for attaching filters to these types of lenses.

I rarely use a polarizer, preferring a vari-nd filter in order to control exposure, while others prefer fixed ND.

I'm often using up to 8 stops of ND which has the result of dropping exposure equivalent to dropping from ISO200 down to ISO 0.78! Is that low enough for you ?

Some of the links there wouldnt work for me. Does this filter vignette at full wide on a gh3?

Discovered the Panasonic 8mm lens has a behind the lens gel filter holder. I cut some N9 optical gel to fit the slot and done. Works fine.
