FZ1000 and variable ND filters

Hi Guys

I know that Colin Rowe uses variable ND's on his camera .. I have the same filters as Colin and I cannot use the lens hood once the filter is in place??? Do you simply shoot without a hood. My ND's are already 62mm so can one get a 62 to 62 ring to lift the filter a bit?? I'm a bit worried if I take it out too far I'll get vignetting at wide angle.

Today I will just leave the hood off as I need the ND's as it's a bright sunny day for this afternoon's wedding.

Thanks Guys

Oh dear more bits and pieces to carry then? That will be a bit of a pain in the butt going from indoors to outdoors .. take off the standard hood, put on the variable ND, put on the 67mm lens hood before you can start shooting ...then going back inside you have to take off the 67mm hood, take off the variable ND and still find the original hood to put back on the lens.

Re: FZ1000 and variable ND filters

Tbh honest i hate them as they are a faff in a wedding situation so i leave it off when i'm rushing around but put it on if i'm going to be outside for a prolonged time - i'm not an purist so some some high shutter speed shots are inevitable - my main problem is forgetting to take it off when going inside. Thankfully it just fits inside the lens hood of my zeiss
