I have an opportunity to use the Panasonic AG-HVX200
n my video production class.I already own a Sony VX 2000. What I want to know is, is there anything I can learn on the Panasonic that I cannot get from the VX 2000? (Everything shot on the Panasonic will be in standard definition in this class). The reason I'm asking this question is, I have to drive a considerable distance to check out the Panasonic. If I can learn some valuable things from it, I will do it. I already spent about an hour with it, just checking out the features.

With such an open-ended question the best thing to do is read up on the official documentation from Panasonic:
http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp...odel=AG-HVX200 Download the operations manual and the brochure; that should give you all your answers. |
The two big things to learn are variable speeds and their relation to shutter settings, as well as the P2 work flow. Managing the data and the cards isn't trivial, especially if your NLE doesn't support it natively.
