Pan Problem

Hi everybody,
I'm going to start a new project and I'm doing some tests on my HVX200.
I will shoot 720PN for space reasons. I'm worried about the problem (Jittering?) I'm seeing when I'm panning. The vertical lines are very trembling and sometimes It seems to me I'm losing resolution, even when I'm panning slowly. I can see this problem on my computer monitor (30" Apple, FCP Studio 2, Setup DVCPRO HD 720p25) and on my Panasonic HD TV (connected via HDMI Inensity HDTV 720p50). I know this is a common problem but my last tests show me a really difficult situation (several shots are unusable). I think I need some help.
Thank you in advance.

What shutter speed are you using?

Have you got 'steadyshot' turned on? It should be off when using a tripod.

What you're describing sounds like the classic case where the camera is trying to 'steady' your pan and failing miserably.

Thank you Andy. The camera is not on a tripod. I'm shooting manually. OIS on or off does'nt change anything.

Shutter 1/50 (OFF), Dan.

Someone suggested this to me and I found it to be a good solution - set your shutter to 220 degrees...

Although (most) film cameras have 180 degree shutters, for some reason the Panasonics (I have an HPX500) are happier at 220...
