Editing in Premiere CS3

I worked with a videographer friend last year who shot with the 200 and 200A. He offloaded the video to his computer through Final Cut. I now have a copy of the file library, all .mov's and I am trying to do some editing in Premier CS3 but it says Codec not found. Any suggestions on how I can get access to the proper codec?

Thanks!
Drew

Welcome to the forum, Drew.

First, there is a dedicated category to all things Premiere on this forum, which would be the best place to have posted this question.

Second, within the link below may be the free codec you can download for your NLE:

https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pro...e/download.htm

If there isn't a codec on this page that Premiere likes ask the people on the appropriate forum category; they'll get you pointed in the right direction.

Apple converts the files to Quicktime movies that are not compatible with the Windows version of Quicktime. Apple doesn't support DVCPRO-HD in the Windows version of Quicktime.

You can get past this by going to DVFilm - Digital to Film Transfers, Tape to Film Tranfers and buying the Raylight Quicktime Decoder for Windows.

Barry,

Thanks for the suggestion.

Unfortunately, I am working on a Mac with QuicktimePro installed. When I play one of the files in Quicktime, I get audio but just a black screen. According to the movie inspector, the source is "DVCPRO HD 1080p30, 1280 x 1080 (1888 x 1062), Millions"

Any more ideas?

Drew

Do you have FCP installed on that Mac? The DVCPRO-HD decoder only gets installed into Quicktime with FCP...
