Slight audio lag / echo on HVX170

Has anybody noticed this before? Basically, the camera audio is a split-second behind "real" audio, so when monitoring something live, it almost sounds like an echo because you first hear it for real, outside of the earphones, and then you hear it a split-second later through the camera's earphones.

I think this happens with the built-in mic, but I know it happens with an external shotgun mic or a mixer hooked up via XLR.

I wonder if some setting can be off! It can't be designed to work this way. :-)

If you have a camera as great as the one you have, you should call it by it's proper model number, AG-HPX170 and you should really sit down, sacrifice a few hours of time and read the manual. There are a lot of other nuances and controls you will miss also if you don't.

Menu>AV/In/Out>HP Mode>Switch from Recording to Live mode.

Check in the menu, on my hvx200 there is a menu option for headphone out and you probably want it to be "live"

Right Marshall. That's what this is "Menu>AV/In/Out>HP Mode>Switch from Recording to Live mode." Whenever you see a command, followed by >, that is shorthand for menu levels.
