storage alternatives

i guess its unclear if firewire will spit out an hd or dvcpro50 file in real time, that would of course be the easy way, but if not, and i'm not sure if this idea was kicked around,

but one of the first hacks to the ag-hvx would be to fool the camera into accepting a Mobile Serial ATA 2 Port CardBus PC Card, that would potentialy allow a user to hook up any hardrive to the p2 system...

this idea ass_umes many things, that you can use a serial ata 2 card without installing drivers, you can fool the hvx into sending a signal to the device...

i'm sure some form of this hack will come out, a p2 card is nothing more then means for storing data onto sd memory...it may come out that a modified p2 card comes out with a breakout to some greater storage device, just moving those 1,s and 0's down a further pipline instead of letting them settle in there tight confined quarters on an sd card

or maybe its all wishfull thinking...

It is not unclear, it's completely clear: the HVX *will* spit out a full 100-megabit DVCPRO-HD stream, and it *will* spit out a full 50-megabit DVCPRO50 stream, in real-time as you're shooting.

You would make many friends if you were able to do this!
