Element Footage

I got a new vehicle and did some mods to it, so while inspired, why not take the HVX200 to it...

Just for fun. ;)

VERY NICE.. and one thing i have noticed about your footage.. very "un-noisy and clean"

looks like the Leica Dicomar Lens lens right? No adapters here?

Steev Dinkins April 19th, 2006 04:33 PM

Thanks! And you guessed right, that's the stock lens. Every time I shoot with the HVX, 35mm adapter or not, I am impressed with the results. :D

That footage looks so clean and has great detail. I am in a toss up with the HD100 and HVX200. I like the swappable lenses on the HD100 vs. fixed on the HVX. I have had hands on with the HD100, but not with the HVX...yet! Do you mind if I ask your settings, and did you do any correction, etc. in post?

Steev Dinkins April 23rd, 2006 10:34 PM

Jeremey, I did Color Correction in FCP on the footage. I tweaked shadows cooler to achieve a slight blue silver color to the car. I then crushed blacks for greater contrast to make everything pop. I shot in Cine-Like D since I think it gives better black detail, even if I kill that detail in post by crushing blacks. It provides more options.
