HVX200 is here! - Test footage inside.

So I recieved the camera about a week ago and I just recieved my 2 8GB P2 cards from Spec-Comm this weekend. So I did some really quick run and gun shooting.

This footage was shot at 720PN and then dubbed to 480P in camera. (Because Premiere STILL doesn't have mxf support. Still working on that problem.)

35mb

I did notice some strobing in a few highlights and I'm not terribly sure where that's coming from. Any ideas? Other than that I'm EXTREMELY happy with the camera thus far.

I'm going up north in a few days for two weeks, but wanted to post this and express my gratitude to all you guys and gals who helped out with getting this beast.

Thanks again!

Phil

Footage and editing looks nice....

Really dig the website man.

Really nice, what did you use for the sky shot and how did you make the end shots. Very cool, thanx for sharing!

Very nice effects at the end. Is that ink in water?

Phil Holland May 15th, 2006 06:05 PM

James - Thanks. Glad you like the site.

Niels - The sky was shot at 12fps and then I think ramped up by 200%. I color corrected everything here in Premiere or After Effects. And as Paul guessed it is indeed ink in water.

Paul - Thanks! And yes, you are correct.

Again, Great effect... thanks for the confirmation

Cool work Phil, was that you jumping on the rocks??

Phil Holland May 16th, 2006 06:25 PM

Paul - Anytime man.

Mike - Thanks. Yeah. That's me jumping around. I wouldn't recommend doing that considering how sore I was the next day!

Here's some 100% grabs. 1280x720.

Please give Aspect HD 4.1 a try, now available at www.cineform.com. This will allow your MXF files to be batch converted into CineForm Intermediate AVIs, including batching the 960 to 1280 upres, all faster than real-time. It should help you out with Premiere.
