HVX-P2 question

I've had my HVX for about a month and have been through the manual several times, but can't find the answer to this question. When I have two formatted but empty P2 cards in the HVX, is there a way to select to record on the second P2 card instead of starting on the first P2 card ? This is also an issue when you approach the end of the first card, and rather than recording a clip across two cards, I would prefer to jump to the beginning of the second card. Is this possible ?

Yes, go to the SW MODE menu and assign the SLOT SEL function to one of the user buttons. Then when you press that user button it'll change which card it'll start the next recording to.

Thanks Barry ! I got your book yesterday - its a truly great resource. One more P2 question for you or anyone else. It would be useful to me to sometimes be able to set the camera to start the time code recorder at zero when recording onto each newly formatted P2 card. Is this possible, or do I need to enter zero into the Preset menu each time a reformatted P2 card is started ?

There is no provision for "regen" timecode in P2, it's always in "preset" mode, so if you want to start timecode over at zero on each card you'd need to go into the menu to TC PRESET, select it, then press the "COUNTER RESET" button.

Frankly, I don't think I've used timecode once in the year I've had this product; timecode seems like such a dinosaur now. Only time I can think of to use it would be to sync up takes from a multi-camera shoot; other than that, I forget it's even there... :)
