P2 Cards & 60P
I'm curious how the P2 cards hold up when shooting in 60P. I recently met someone shooting a mountain bike event on the HVX200, and they were forced to use the Firestore because the P2 cards couldn't capture 60P very well. I'm curious what other people are experiencing.

around a gig for every minute of 720/60p, as with all the 1080i modes.

I shoot almost everything in 60p. Haven't had any issues.
What do you mean by hold up? They hold up just fine. It just cuts down your recording time is all. |
The P2 cards transfer data rate is much faster than firestore through 1394 connection.
so it sounds like this was either a setup error or a defective P2 card. |
why do you guys shoot in 720/60p? Just to get ultra fast motion?

Like Benjamin's dance example, 60p is just great all around for sports. Also most broadcasters are looking for 60p (50p for PAL areas) when you submit any 720p footage.
720p60 also upconverts to 1080i60 rather well when the need comes up. Most of my 720p60 shooting has been for slow-mo effects and sports (mostly ski and snowboard stuff). |
