D90 in a HDV 1080 FCP project

D90 in a HDV 1080 FCP project;

just got a Nikon D90 and thinking of blend it with some HDV 1080 50i FCP projects.
And want to listen what´s the best way to work with it.
Edit it in 1280x720 24p/ Proress..or?
Then export to HDV, or import it directly in a HDV 1080 501 project?
Testing it now but wanted to listen with some more users.

Thanks for a great forum.

Carl

I have found using ProRes is the best, but never in 50i. Of course, this would mean your HDV material would have to be converted too. You're going to run into an aspect ration issue, since HDV is 1440x1080 and D90 is 1280x720. I'd love to hear what you find works best.

I have been using D90 footage in my SD projects, no problem only need to downsize the footage to match SD. I do not have a demand for HD material (yet).
