Indy and the Crystal skull lighting

Tonight I looked at the Bonus material on Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. I froze the frame that showed the set of the campfire scene. They had these gigantic softbanks with honeybee grids. Talk about a soft light source! I suppose the challenge is to make older actors like Harrison Ford and Karen Allen look great. I guess the moral here is bigger=better.

Good news for the boom op, too; fewer shadows than with hard lighting!
