3000k vs 3200k

I just received a JTL Everlight kit. Although it advertises 3200k bulbs, the kit comes with 3 Ushio EHD 3000k bulbs.

The bulbs are rated at 2000 hours vs 150 hours for the 500w 3200k FRG or 200 for the 650w 3200k FRK. At B&H an EHD and FRK cost $30, an FRG is $35.

Question: Is the difference between 3000k and 3200k significant? Isn't this the effect of a CTB 1/8 or CTB 1/4 gel?

Thanks,

David

Congrats on the new light. I would love to hear your overall experience with this particular light. Have you shot with it yet? I was looking into getting one or two as a great cheap way to some better soft lighting than what I currently have.

BTW, they don't come with dimmers, do they?

White balance to the light source and you should have no problem.

Even with mixed light sources (3000k and 3200k)?

It will depend on the placement of the lights and elements within the scene. It won't hurt to have gels handy, but in many cases the only 200K difference and white balancing to the source eliminates the color variances.
