Bulb for HALO FLOOD-1000S

Greetings,

I just got a couple of used Britek HALO FLOOD-1000S that I need to use on Saturday for a shoot I am doing in New Mexico. One of the bulbs is burned out and I think these might be speciality bulbs but am not sure. The site is really uninformative. Is this something a local store might carry? They don't really have much information on the back other than to use Tunsten R7s bulbs.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

not that rare

Its not as common as a 250w or 500w double ended tungsten, but the bulb you want is fairly common. Tungsten lights are all "tungsten" colored by nature, so there is no major difference in color or the like between cheap and expensive tungsten bulbs. Most of the difference will be in reliability.

Take your good bulb to the hardware store and see if they have a bulb the same size. If it fits, then it'll work. Some shop lights use the 1000w bulb, but most use 500s, so there is no guarantee they'll have it. However, if they have a 500w that fits into your fixture, you can use that one in your fixture just fine, you'll just have half the light. Always useful to have a second light 1/2 the power of the key.

the britek 1000w "flood" is just a fancy cased shop light. So i'd exhaust all the places that might sell shop lights (hardware stores, car part stores) before going for a light store or specialty shop. The bulb should be like $15, retail. Amazon and rostronics have them if you need to go to the web.

I cant tell from the photos or the page what the length of the bulb is, or whether its t3 or t3.25, so i'd take the bulb w/ me to the shop.

cheers!

Thank you very much, I really appreciate it. I'm using Tota Lights for the the actual people, but wanted to use these outside on the windows. I'll take the bulb to Ace and Home Depot (and find a few others) to see if I can come up with a match.

Thank you again, you have been most informative.
