which lamps ??

I purchased an older lite device with flexible arms, holding 4 lamps up to 350W each. Now I'd like to use this, it gives some extra opportunities to light up subject in different ways. Can anyone please, tell me which type of lights would give best results?, or should I mix 2x2 different for optimal use?

thx
jacko

Can you tell us what brand you have? A link perhaps?

Jacko Bultinck October 14th, 2003 03:54 AM

it's a real old kinda lampdevice, chromed flexible arms, 4 different knobs to light up 2 or 4 lamps, can be screwed onto a tripod, the brand probably is " mobilite", made in USA, that's all I could find written on it. But it seems practical and useful, therefore my question.
I couldn't find any info on the internet about it.

What kind of lamp base? (what does the bulb screw or fit into)

It sounds like it's an old movie light. Is it a medium edison base (same as a household light bulb)

Jacko Bultinck October 14th, 2003 03:57 PM

yes Brian, indeed edison base sort a thing .....LOL

it must be an old movie light indeed, but I love the way it looks.
I really want to use it, if any good of course

There are a whole herd of mini floods and halogens available on the market and quite reasonably priced. So long as the color temp is approximately in the 3000-3200 range who really cares. there is always white balance to equalize things.

Besides having retro charm the unit is most likely very well made.
Enjoy :)
