Photoflex on-camera Action Dome

Anyone have any experience with the Photoflex Action Dome?

I have a Canon VL-10Li Battery Video Light....

....and was wondering if it was compatable with this on camera softbox. It states it's compatable with *most* lights so I figured I'd try here and see if any have had any experience with this peice.

Also...wondering about it's size- it'll be used on a DVX100. Will it be to cumbersome for a smaller camera like this?

I have one and like it a lot. Clumsy to set up but very nice effect. I use mine with a NRG VariLight Pro. It can be adjusted to work with most lights although a low-powered light might lose too much getting through the diffuser.

Thanks for the reply Mike. Yeah I was thinking about that- I was reading up about on camera lights on B&H and they said to expect %50 loss of light with diffuser. Beings the Canon VL-i is only 20watts it might be a bit too DIM.

I was looking at the various on camera lighting offered by NRG, and Lowell but don't quite understand where the power comes from. Some of them have an Antoine Bauer tap and others have a 4-pin XLR? That's not XLR like my shotgun mic is it- that's 3 pin xlr correct?
If I go with one of these more powerful on camera lighting options:
1) How do I mount it? Do I need any special adapters- because some of them only use stud mount not shoe.

and 2) What kind of extra gear/accessories do I need to power it?

Thanks in advance.
