Which Rifa (if any)
 

I'm here in New Zealand & considering either a Rifa-Lite 44 or 55 from B&H.
Costly to ship here + low current NZ$ exchange rate, etc..

Small kit size, quick setup, access to bulbs, & bits leads me to considering either the DV Creator 44 Tungsten 4 kit or the same with the Rifa 55.
The extra for the the 55 kit over the 44 (shipped) is significant.

My question, will the the Rifa 44 do the job on (typically) single person interviews using a PDX10 or must I have the rifa 55?

How important (given its expense) is the eggcrate?

I would advise the 55
 

44 kind of small and only takes 250 bulb


and egg crates only if u need light control

lite background ect



chimera 8000 and 8005 have pro cons

Richard's THE MAN when talking lighting and I'm not familiar with your camera's sensitivity, but I have the Rifa-44 and it's more than adequate.
I actually have to dim it down in most interview situations. Panny DVX-100A

Well, I went ahead yesterday & purchased a 'Rifa Pro 44 2 Light Kit' (has a pro-lite as well) together with a few bits & pieces like clamps, Flexi-Shafts & a mini-boom arm from B&H (will use with a small reflector).

BTW I have a PDX10P w/- low lux about 7 v's your DVX-100A of a round 3 ... Stephanie .... I guess I'll have to get closer!

Important (apart from cost) was that it was carryable (just) together with camera bag & tripod up & down stairs (one trip to from the car).

I know I can also get 230 volt lamps (here in NZ) etc. & the 44 & the pro use the same lamp ..

DV is sensitive and you invested in a good company - Lowel
Many great people there!

years ago and with another company I fought to keep them from eliminating a 250 adapter and kit for that reason - dv

of course I got fired. not a free think company.



but that ended up to be a good thing.

enjoy your 44 kit. You may be able to go DC if it uses prolite bulbs.
