New On-Camera Light for EX1R
 

Hey Guys,

I recently upgraded my kit and now want to look at upgrading my on-camera light but with so many out there I wanted to try and get some real life feedback on what some of you are using.

At present I have a Litepanel MicroPro and am not happy with it. It doesn't pump out enough light and have had the dimmer break a couple of times.

I need something that will be robust and durable and with a strong light output. I will be taking it to some pretty intense areas and it's likely to get knocked around.

Also what battery options are ideal?
AA's or Running something like Sony Camera Batteries?

Any information is appreciated.

FYI, a lot of times there's already a thread started on a subject so it's best to do a search first. It may also lead you to a better forum to post under.

I've got the Comer 1800 and it has a lot of punch for the dollar. But I very rarely use on camera lighting so I'm not wiling to invest a lot into an on camera light. Litepanels Sola that Olof mentions is a really interesting light. I light that is is an actual Fresnel.

No problems. It would also help to know what type of footage you'll be shooting. Are you looking for a hard light or more of something just to fill an area?
