Comer 1800 or Ikan Multi-K?

I'm trying to choose between the Comer 1800 or the Ikan Multi-K for an on-camera light. One consideration is that the Ikan gives more options of different color temperatures for the light. The Comer does 4500 and 3200 but the Ikan can go 2800-6500. That said, I'm not sure I need that range. I'm thinking long term here and maybe I would need the range the Ikan gives.

Any thought on this matter would be appreciated!

Re: Comer 1800 or Ikan Multi-K?

Difficult call. I have the 1800 for my EX1 and have been very happy with it. Being able to focus the beam to get more throw has been a very usefull feature for me. If in the future you do need a range of colours it is easy enough to clip gels to the barn doors.
I am however shooting events and in venues where the imperative is mostly to get enough light. As such the 1800 fills my definition of what an on camera light is all about, the light source of last resort. I see the two lights you're considering as filling quite different needs and your decision should be based on what your needs are.
