Anyone use these new circular Genaray LEDs?
 

I found these LED lights on B&H today. It appears to be a new company and they have good reviews.

This light has 1144 LEDs in it and it is circular. But it's only 13" diameter. So it must have smaller LEDs that most of the other companies making square panels?

It doesn't specify what the light output is.

you can easily fit a thousand of 5mm LED on such surface.
the problem i got with such led is there is tons of useless plastic and they get hot.
SMD led are way smaller and thinner and dissipate heat a lot better.
but for the price you probably get a decent lighting

Bought some at B&H. Unfortunately I did not discover the set with 2 lights and 2 stands so they got a little expensive.
But they produce a very nice light - I have tried a lot of other Led lights but the genaray lamp is the best I have tried. They produce a very clean light that matches daylight with no green or magenta colour. They will be my preferred lamp now. Missing a kind of raincover for them - I will try with clear plastic.
The dimmer works perfect.

Bo (and anyone else who has bought these), how are you carrying them around? They seem an odd shape, and would make for a difficult arrangement in a manageable case. I'd love to be able to throw them in a Portabrace backpack or even a more protective hard case, but as they are, it seems the best I'll be able to do is figure out their dimensions and then get a Pelican case to pack them.

I too find the odd shaped lights somewhat awkward.
Did you manage to find a storage/transport solution?

I gave up on the lights altogether. Their power supplies are super-flaky, and after I lost the third one (with gentle handling), I realized they just aren't professional grade.

That, of course, along with the fact that you can't control the spill on those things at all - you get 180 degrees of light, which, in most cases, is not useful to me. I sold them to a colleague for a song.
