AC shore power for what was 12V belt pack
 

I have a very old Cool-Lux Tri Light that I ran off of a battery belt pack, run-n-gun shoot em in the eyes and almost blind them forever in the old days type of light.

The battery belt is long ago way beyond taking another charge. It is not only expired it should probably rest in piece in its own dedicated land fill. I suspect only those of you who actually put a battery belt on will understand....

Anyway, the light is still good and has the cigarette plug on it (yes, cigarette plug, true, a little nostalgic for those that don't know what that means). I can still see lots of cigarette chargers on B&H for batteries. But obviously I am never going to put on another battery belt! My on camera LEDS are much better than that that.

So.....what I'm looking for is a shore power wall wart that will power the light via cigarette plug. I don't see one. This old tri light could have another life left in it for some situations if I could power it by plugging it in.

Any suggestions???

Being unfamiliar with the Tri, this may be a stupid question.

Can you get a 120v bulb for it, and change out the cordset?

That was Lowel's approach to battery belt lighting back in the day, they were using the same fixtures, with the same bulb sockets, for on-camera 12v and on-stand 120/220v.

Hey Seth,

It would not be worth trying to modify it. It has 3 lamps that put out 30 watts each at 12 volts. It has been retired for years. If I could find a reasonable way to power it I would do it but I don't really need it. I am kind of surprised there is not some kind of transformer made to plug this into.
