An inside job ....

I welcome any suggestions from any Photon magicians in the forum ~

Will be doing a single camera shoot of a band inside a large warehouse. The purpose of the shoot is to create a visual marketing package (resume) that will be submitted to various recording labels. Instead of a theme type Music video it is more a showcase of the Artists and their music.

Below is the basic approach the DP wants to take .

What might be some lighting challenges to be aware of ?

*****
"The location offers a lot and has many usable props and equipment already
there! We identified the West North corner as the most appropriate,
this is were the lights and scaffolds are stored. It has a mezzanine
over it, which would also allow us to get footage from up higher.
There are many great props, both fixed (doors, metal curtains...) and
movable (racked amps, mixing boards...) throughout the warehouse.

The idea is to set up tracks and a dolly into a full circle (8 pieces
of curved tracks make a 20 feet diameter circle). The camera would go
around the tracks as the band members would gather in the middle, set
up and start playing. We would cut back and forth with the warehouse
set and the live footage from the gig..."

Apologies. Pics of warehouse originally posted here were not in right format.

Without knowing more about the space, I can make some wild guesses:

- Available power and/or location and routing of genny cables
- Need to provide 360 degree lighting (always a nightmare) which precludes working from the floor on stands.
- Lack of a grid for hanging lights up high
- Need to light backgrounds (unless it's ok to go black out there)

On the flip side, old warehouses are usually lots of fun to light from an artistic standpoint. Bring plenty of medium to small instruments to pick out neat features in the architecture and look for neat shadow patterns to cast.
What are you shooting to and what stop do you need to hold?
