Here's a nice selection of ten Formatt filters. These are very high quality glass and unused.

They cost a fortune individually. Check them out at B&H.

I do!

I actually do have the one that came with my camera around somewhere. I just use headphones all the time. I'm not sure where it is right now, I'll have to see if I can dig it out. If I find it, do you have an e-mail I should use to contact you?

Spring Cleaning! GL2 pkg, XL2+3X, XLH1+6X

5 Attachment(s)
Spring cleaning is coming early to my house, if only to make up for the fact that I didn't get around to it the last couple of years at all!

The cameras will come with accessories as shipped and in the original box. I’ll pay insured FedEx Ground in the continental U.S. Any transaction fees or upgraded shipping charges will be up to you. All cameras are in perfect working order and are to the eye in essentially “good as new” condition -- at worst, if you really look hard you can find a subtle surface scratch here and there if the light is right (not on the lenses, of course!).

Canon GL2 Package Camera, WD58 wide angle lens, VL3 light, Sign Video XLR-Pro, extra high capacity Lenmar battery. The camera is freshly back from the Irvine Canon Factory Service Center with a new tape transport. I sent it in because it has given the “Remove Cassette” message a few times and wanted to make sure that’s resolved before selling. I checked function and it works like new, so you can take "Remove the Cassette" off your worry list. Asking $1400.

Canon XL2. Early serial number, original version with the film grain button. Estimate less than 100 hours of use. Asking $2100.

Canon XL 3X lens. Like new. Asking $500. Would be happy to talk a bundle deal with the XL2. I believe the XL2 and the 3X belong together; I used the 3X more than the stock 20X.

Canon XLH1, original model. Two of them, low hours – probably not more than 50 hours on either of them. One of them (S/N -435) has the User Manual and remote control still unused, in original plastic bag. Asking $3800 each.

Not for sale at this time: Canon XL 6X HD lens. Pristine. Asking $2300.

My asking prices aren't the very lowest you'll find on the internet, but neither are these refurbs, rental units, or heavy-use items. I'm the original, and only, owner and operator of all cameras and babied all of them (well, the GL2 got as far as Kazakhstan with me but was no worse for wear!).

Chris Hurd January 10th, 2010 11:05 AM

Wow, excellent pricing, Pete. You should have no trouble moving these cameras.

Anybody looking for good deals on gently used, well-cared-for cameras,
look no further... it doesn't get any better than these packages.

Portabrace, Tripods, Optex, Call Box DVD

3 Attachment(s)
All items consolidated into one thread...scroll down for details & pics.

Shipping included in all items to CONUS.

Portabrace camera case $120
OpTex wide angle/fisheye for Canon XL cameras $175
Daiwa/Slik tripod & head $185
Bogen 3191 tripod with 3066 head $450
Callbox Apple Color training DVD $50

Portabrace camera case: model BR-A CO50/B, similar to their current "carry-on" line.

$120 including shipping to CONUS. Paypal only.

For compact or fullsize ENG camcorders (like the HPX500, Varicam, etc.). Also useful for accessories, stingers, etc. Legendary Portabrace quality. This is a good around town or airline "carryon" bag. This is foam padded but lightweight, does not contain heavy, rigid inserts except the bottom. Has external zippered pocket for a quick-release plate, and an external mesh pocket. Shoulder strap included also.

This is in excellent condition. No rips, tears, scuffs. Just minimal signs of normal wear.

OpTex wide angle/fisheye lenses for Canon XL cameras

1 Attachment(s)
$175 shipped, to CONUS only. Paypal only.

It's like getting two wide-angle adapters in one: a .7 wideangle and a .5 fisheye for your XL-1/XL-2, (and I think this also fits the stock lenses for the HD cameras).

OpTex, a British optical company, made this beautiful, versatile wide angle lens adapter kit designed for XL-1/XL1S 16x and 3x autofocus lenses. The kit cost over $1300 new. This is not some plastic toy, these are multicoated optical glass elements of very high quality, mounted in machined aluminum, and they're in perfect condition.

From an online description:

"OpTex Wide Angle Optic set comprises two 0.7x optics and an 89.1mm clamp ring to fit onto the front of 3x and 16x Canon XL Lenses. One 0.7x element increases angle of view by 30%, two elements by 50%."

To be clear: It's a three-part system: a clamp-on adapter that mates with the XL1 lens, which then screws onto the rear .7x element, which in turn can be screwed into into another .7x front element (by way of a 93mm screw thread).

You can use just the rear element alone for a .7x wide angle factor, or use both together for the ultra-wide .5x total factor.

If you are resourceful you could probably find a step-down ring to mate this lens to another camera, but I don't know exactly what you would need.

Comes with front and rear caps. Glass is in flawless condition.

FS Daiwa/Slik "system 10" fluid tripod

5 Attachment(s)
I have a Daiwa/Slik "system 10 fluid head tripod for sale in LIKE-NEW condition. It's very similar to the current Slik model 508Q system, which sells for around $1000 new. $1200 on B&H)

Only $185 including shipping and Paypal to CONUS!

I bought it awhile ago but have never used it. It is literally brand new, with very minor scuffing from storage. It is a solid, well-made, heavy-duty piece of kit, NOT a cheap consumer tripod.

Features:
2-section legs plus a heavy worm-geared elevator (with drag adjustment) for max height about 60 inches and min height about 39 inches. Tubular aluminum legs (about 1" diameter). Mid-spreader and wide stance for an extremely solid camera platform. Rubber feet. The fluid head is very smooth and has a preset (non-adjustable) spring counterbalance and pan/tilt drag. Comes with a 3/8" camera screw only (I believe you could subsitute a 1/4-inch camera screw if you wanted to). Two pan handles included (one pictured). The 508QF is rated to 26 pounds capacity, and I believe this would handle the same. I am sure it would handle an HPX500 with ease. See pictures for details.

Bogen 3191 tripod with 3066 head

5 Attachment(s)
Selling my backup tripod for my HVX200. Bogen/Manfrotto 3191 tripod with 3066 flluid head.

$450 including shipping to CONUS. Paypal only, I'll cover the fee.

I've used this setup with a DVX100, up to an HPX500 and it delivers nice smooth shots. It would be great for a DSLR rig. This is an excellent bargain for a budget-conscious filmmaker. Canon XL, Sony EX1/3, HVX200/HPX170, etc. are perfectly-matched to this tripod and head.

Sticks:
Description/features: Silver aluminum with rubber feet with retractable spikes. Self-locking design eliminates the need for spreaders. Lever locks offer easy, solid locking. 100mm bowl. Maximum load: 44lbs. Extended height: 59". Retracted height: 36". Folded height (without head): 39".
Condition: good used condition. Everything is tight, solid and operates as it should. Rubber feet are in good condition. Normal wear and tear (scuffs and scratches). Only fault is that the integrated bubble level is broken (I level by eye or use a cheap hardware store level)).

Head:
Description/features: This is the older version of the 3066 design. Rated for cameras up to 22lbs. Adjustable fluid pan and tilt drag. 100mm claw ball. Note that this design doesn't have spring counterweight, so ordinary care must be taken to lock the tilt when walking away from the sticks. Includes two pan handles (second one not pictured). 1/4" and 3/8" (not pictured) camera screws included.
Condition: excellent used condition. I have replaced the cork gasket that the camera sits on. Everything is tight and functions as it should. The second rosette for the left pan handle is not pictured but is included and I will attach it before shipping.
