According to Ken Rockwell the AI is optically exactly the same as the AIS except that that AI focus barrel has a longer travel distance making it more precise and thus much better for video use.

Manfrotto 523Pro LANC controller for Sony and Canon cameras. In good working condition, served me well on my Sony PD170, but doesn't seem compatible with my new Sony NX70P.


Has a split on the ring above handle, but doesn't affect function at all.

Cost me over $500 when I bought it.
