FS: M-Audio FireWire 410

I have an audio interface for sale that I purchased pre-owned from another DVInfo forum member just a few months ago. It's the M-Audio FireWire 410:

http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_u...e410-main.html

The device works fine and there's nothing wrong with it; it just turns out that I need balanced line-outs for what I wanted to do with it (this model has unbalanced 1/4" line-outs), so I'll have to go with a higher-end device instead.

I paid $200 when I bought it, I'm hoping to get the same amount. I'll cover ground shipping within the U.S. and Paypal charges.

I wanted to get one of these a few weeks ago, but I found out it's incompatible with Windows XP Media Center. Strange considering it's fine with XP Home or Pro.

Bummer.

$900 takes all. Not for sale in pieces. This is for someone looking to get a turnkey DV audio kit for a SMALL fraction of the price it's worth. The B6 kit alone with the Ambient adapter is worth a large portion of the total price. This kit sounds fantastic, I no longer do one-man-band stuff and don't need my own audio.

I'll keep an eye out on EBay - I stumbled across one at one time (Optex, 52mm no less!), interesting piece, definitely not a zoom through situation... when I sold mine there were a couple others that popped up too. They went for around $300-350, so you've got a budget to keep in mind... not bad when they were 1K new.

I don't know whether the Optex and the Century were actually different or not, when I researched it looked to me like somehow the two were related business wise... but the Optex is a solid piece of glass. Sort of superfluous for me once I went to shooting HDV, but an interesting way to increase the effective resolution of the camera.

I'll start watching for one, I always find the strangest stuff on Ebay! One might just turn up!
The Optex and the Century Anamorphic Adapters were not developed in any conjunction. I have seen test results indicating that both were better than each other depending on the reviewer. At the end of the day, the Century remains the leading Anamorphic Adapter.

We are currently have a sale on our Sony bayonet mount 16:9 Adapter for the VX2000/2100.

The wireless set is bank "b",
The mic is the ME2, although next to the countryman..., it's a backup
The rycote is the $110 one, 21/22
The pistol-grip shock mount is MZS-20-1 ($329)
The pole is Lightwave GT-10 CABLED (5-section) 30" collapsed, 9'8" open ($229 w/o cable)
The pole case is a Cavision boompole case. One end of the shoulder strap worked its way free, so it's gaff taped..probably stronger now than ever.

The grip head is an Avenger standard grip knuckle
The ambient adapter was roughly $150 from Pro-Sound

Also included, which I forgot to mention is a custom-made hotshoe mount. People who use these mics a lot can confirm, if the receiver is mounted vertically, the reception clarity and distance get drastically better. This mount allows 2 receivers to be held upright on a hotshoe. I used it for 6 months, I can attest - I never had a single dropout or hit, even in NYC. When used with the stock horizontal mount, I used to get dropouts all the time, using the exact same channels. I have a picture of everything layed out...not a great shot but it gives an idea.

FYI - I posted a while back about this, but in my honest opinion the Countryman B6 is probably the finest sounding LAV I've ever heard. With good placement, it cuts EXTREMELY well with shotguns. The show I bought this setup for I was using an MKH-60, and when panned back and forth, the only difference in SQ was proximity.
