M-Audio Microtrack II Digital CF Recorder (like new)

I’m offering an M-Audio Microtrack II recorder for $200. I ordered this recorder from a reliable and popular photo-video equipment supplier based in New York City. Not including shipping, I paid $239.95. My recorder arrived in early December and after trying it for a few tests with my Audio-Technica AT822 stereo cardioid microphone (for ambience) and my Electrovoice 635 N/DB microphone (for narration), I was not satisfied with the sound quality. In my opinion, there was too much static and I didn’t like having to manually customize the recording levels based on the volume of whatever I was recording. For the last 3 years, I’ve been using a Sony digital MZ-NH1 HI-MD minidisc recorder with my mics for nature recording and narration for my wildlife documentaries, but my recorder stopped working recently, so I ordered the Microtrack II as a replacement.

While I’m not happy with the sound the Microtrack II delivered on my mics, the sound recorded with the T-microphone that came with the recorder came out clear and smooth. So, this recorder would work well for voice recording or recording meetings (or other stuff like that) with its supplied mic, but it didn’t sound good with my mics (not sure why; using a 10 foot XLR cable with my mics may be a factor). This mic includes all accessories in the box (t-shaped stereo mic, USB cable, headphone extension cable, earbuds, USB power supply, carrying case, quick start guide, CD-ROM with documentation & editing software). Plus, I’m including a Kingston 4 GB compact flash card (typically sold separately).

The Microtrack II I’m offering has been used very little, so if you want to get a good deal on one, this is your chance. Also, the instruction book warned that it was important to fully charge the battery on the Microtrack II before first use. I charged it overnight, so you shouldn’t have battery life problems due to that factor.

Payment is accepted via paypal, check, or money order. Shipping will vary based on your address and will be calculated here: Postage Price Calculator. I’m located in northeastern California. E-mail me at tristan@tristanhowardproductions.com if interested. In addition to more info, I can also send you photos of the recorder, accessories, and packaging. Thanks for looking.

Regards,
Tristan

would you be able to get it upgraded to firmware 1.11 ? ( so Sony can eventually get a check, because with such early firmware version your camera could have some of the few known bugs - focus/battery/overheat/peeling buttons- that have been fixed later)
If not , would you agree to lower price a bit ?
would you send it overseas to Switzerland ?
Thanks & Regards

I have a 17" MBP w/4GB Ram, 2.4 dual-core C2D, 8800 (not sure on that last one). The screen is 1920x1200, 16:10 ratio.

I'd be interested.

What would you like in trade?

I've got some oddball stuff, no cam,but you never know.

Could you throw out a price? You have a total of two batteries?

Also thanks for your enquiries on my XH-A1, sold it locally.
