DVD Filmschool any good?
 

Hi guys,

I couldn't find an actual DVD review forum as such, so I'm asking here. Anybody encountered this teaching series, a lot of big names are used to endorse the site, which I'm presuming are legitimate or law suites would be flying everywhere.

The guy who makes those DVD's is actually a genious lol. Many big stars have done his weekend class experience and learned more than they ever could have paying lots for school, "or so they said." If you feel confident and can fork out the dough ide go for it.

I bought his book "Script To Screen" which was really good. It has no fat (theory) and just leaves you with the meat and potatoes on the steps of starting with a script and then on through to to distibution.

I've seen parts of these videos. I have no experience in the film business, but the presentations are clear, information-dense and move along at a fast pace. The presenter yells at you from time to time, but you know he's just kidding around. You'll learn about everything from the cable TV business to the theater business, which he says rents just seats and sells sugar (really, pretty much everything sold by the theaters is made of corn - perhaps even the hot dogs). Everything I saw was a videotape of his stand-up lectures.

I ordered a few of the books listed on his web site (though from Amazon) and will post reviews after I've read them.
