Simultaneous Zoom AND Focus with LANC?

Can the LANC standard support both zoom and focus simultaneously with any controller (Varizoom, Zoe, etc)?

I don't believe so, and I've heard people say no, but I'm just looking for verification or whether it's controller-independent.

Thanks.

As far as I know, only one command at a time via LANC.

I do not know this, Brendan. I suspect not. But even if it was electronically possible it would be an extremely difficult maneuver for a single person to perform with a controller.

As an interesting related tidbit, I came across this fellow's collection of LANC information recently. It's old stuff but has perhaps not changed much. Maybe you can find a hint in there.

Not possibe, due to the limitations of LANC. One or the other, but not both at the same time, sorry.

Just wait until we have FireWire lens controllers! It'll be a whole new level.

Hehehe -- Firewire 3200 at that!

Just think, Foveon HD, native 16:9, and it'll fit in your palm ;-)
