Anyone doing DIY LANC w/Arduino or similar?

I've found a project for zoom control only using Arduino (called "zoomduino") -- I'm suspecting that it would be a good launching point for a more "smart" remote that might be able to run sequences of setup commands as macros, besides handling zoom and focus.

(Previously I've built a cheesy lightweight pan/tilt head that uses a Wii nunchuk as the controller...)

That's my plan, anyway -- wondering if anyone's had previous experience or ideas?

thanks
