push button auto focus on lanc controller

One feature I miss from my VX-2000 days is the "push to auto focus" button where you'd zoom in, push a button for focus, then zoom out to frame your shot. If you use a lanc controller like the Manfrotto 521Pro which has this button, will it function with the A1/HC1? I can't imagine it wouldn't, but I'd like to be sure before buying it.

Laurence, I just tried this with my HC1 and 521PRO and the "push to auto focus" works fine.

The A1 and HC1 have pushbutton auto focus but not sure if it will work through the LANC.

That's great. This looks like the LANC controller to get then.

I have the A1 and after reading your post, I just went over it again looking for a pushbutton auto focus and still can't see one. If there is one, where is it?
