Push Auto Focus for Canon A1

I have read *every* post on the issue here on DVINFO and I have yet to find a suitable response. If you own one of the following LANC controllers, please let me know if the "Push Auto Focus" works with the Canon A1:

Zoe DVXL
Varizoom VZ Rock
Varizoom VZ Stealth
Bogen/Manfrotto 521 (Pro)

Thanks all.

I have the Manfrotto 521Pro. The push AF doesn work with my A1.

How about the Canon ZR-2000? I have one and love it with the A1. It gives you push AF (that works), you can fine tune the focus, variable zoom control and zoom speed setting, display control, peaking and magnifying. It might be a little more expensive then the others ($400.); I think the additional features are worth the extra.

No 'push focus' on the available controllers in the market, why? Is Canon's LANC connection non standard? Hard to find out?

Maybe Canon thinks -hopes- we all buy the expensive clumsy box, the ZR-2000.
That box gives you all, but it's something you just dislike the moment you see it, it works, but it's all plastic with a non-professional look and feel, $400,-

Where are the competitors?
Zoe? Varizoom?

Would it bite Canon that no good aftermarket tools -the things people want- are available? Loot at Panasonic, for that brand you can find many tools.
In the long run: it does.

Hello,

You can use the old RM-95 remote. It doesn't have push focus but it allows you to control it back & forth.

That is a Sony product, but you can't use that in a proper manner on camera, it is more designed to do things like rew, play, serach index for the recorder part. (btw: the Canon has its own wireless remote).

But I (we) am looking for a zoom/focus/start LANC remote, for connection to a stabilizer or tripod or shouldersupport.
