Re: canon Eos C200 or other Cine camera for action

Hi Richard,

Lovely dog. I have 18-80 and with practice you should be able to get nicely stabilised shots without resorting to software (and that horrible jello effect) - the lens has good IS and...

Re: canon Eos C200 or other Cine camera for action

I think once you have a C200, you'll probably find the biggest difference vis-a-vis the XF100 is dynamic range. The XF with it's small sensor is not very forgiving - you really have to nail exposure...

Re: Panasonic EVA1 announced at CineGear 2017

Apparently only electronic IS. Interesting mix of features compared to the C200; missing the EVF, dual pixel AF and internal Raw of the latter, but otherwise looks like a very compelling package.

Re: New Canon Cinema EOS C200 and 200B

I expect this is to placate C300mk2 owners (like me) and shift remaining C300 units. Other than the more robust codec options, the C300 has little to recommend it over the C200.

The C200 is...

Zeiss Milvus with C300mkII

Hi guys,

When I bought my C300mkII I was disappointed to find none of my Zeiss EF lenses (25/50/100 f2) which work so well with the original C300 were compatible. Aperture control was lost and...

Re: C300 vs C300 Mk2 vs ?

Thanks Slavik,

Yep, that sounds right.

Yes Scott, the 3.5mm input is sent to channels 3/4 (even if the source is mono, it will go to both channels). You can adjust the volume level using...

Re: C300 Mark II CFast compatible card list?

Using 128gb Lexars myself with no issues. The 3500x variety. Have shot 1080 & 4K.

As Sayeed mentions, the 3600x are apparently optimised for Arri. Hope those cards work okay for you Scott.

Re: C300 vs C300 Mk2 vs ?

I don't have a use for the audio recorded to channels 3/4 by the pin prick mic. It's not "hard" to disable in post, but as a FCPX user (which does not have a traditional timeline) it's certainly a...

Re: C300 vs C300 Mk2 vs ?

Congratulations Mark. It is a big step up from the C300 in most areas.

Completely agree on top handle (it's much improved but needing a hex key is a pain for transport), focus mag and WFM...

Re: C300 vs C300 Mk2 vs ?

That's similar to my experience Scott. I've owned a C300 since it was released and it's been a superb tool for me. Just a really solid, reliable workhorse that delivers very predictable images.

Re: C300 Mark II monitor compatibility issues

Thanks for this clear info Scott.

I've seen this discussed elsewhere without anyone coming up with an explanation for why their monitors wouldn't work (one guy had tried hooking up several C300/2s...

Re: C300 MK 2 lens compatibility issues

Thanks Scott,

You may be in luck as the manual does mention the ability to update lens firmware via the camera (by way of downloading new firmware onto the SD card from Canon). However, I'm not...

Re: C300 MK 2 lens compatibility issues

Thanks for your input Sabrasachi,

Life would be much better if the camera behaved with the lenses as they do with every other Canon camera.

These lenses are all current (the Tamrons are even...

C300 MK 2 lens compatibility issues

HI guys, I'm having trouble with 3rd party lenses and the C300mk2.

My C300mk2 can't see my Zeiss EF lenses (I have a 50 f/2 and a 25 f/2). F stops appear as a -- in camera and aperture cannot be...

Re: Bag for C300

Hi, yes I use that bag (mine is a Petrol PC003).

You can sit the C100 fully assembled with a 70-200 lens. There's also room for another lens standing upright and a few batteries. Not too much...

Re: C100 Mark II with Ninja

Well I agree with Pavel. It's especially obvious in flesh tones indoors. By eliminating macro blocking there is more detail. I don't find it necessary to zoom in beyond 100% to see in most cases,...

Re: Canon C300 Mark 2 announced - spec list

You summed it up perfectly Dan.

I bought an FS7 four months ago, thinking it would become my main camera (with my existing C300 becoming the B-cam). Much as I try to like it, I just find the FS7...

Re: Im about to make the jump....HELP!

Hi Matthew,

Yes that's right, either set, not both. The 17-55 or 24-105 were mentioned at the start of the thread: you couldn't go wrong with either as the foundation for your kit. There are...

Re: Im about to make the jump....HELP!

If you can afford it you can't go wrong with the 17-55 f2.8 IS and 70-200 f4 IS combo - these cover off most situations for corporate / run & gun / seminar shoots.

Another option would be the...

Re: Comparing C100 vs. XF305

I owned and shot extensively with an XF300, and after purchasing a C300, kept the XF as backup camera fearing the C300 would be too difficult for certain jobs.

Actually, I think the C300 (in the...

Re: C300 and C500 Firmware update

They each have dedicated buttons on the C100, and can be used quite independently of one another.

It will be a little trickier on the C300 as you'll have to give up assignable buttons (therefore...

Re: EF Lenses - which gap?

I second what Matt says on the 70-200 f4. I sold my 2.8 and went for the f4: money wasn't an issue, I prefer the weight / size / handling with the f4 - for me the 2.8 is too cumbersome / front heavy...

Re: C300 and C500 Firmware update

Indeed, it doesn't seem to make much sense at all. What's the strategy here? We're still awaiting the 5DmkIII update (announced back in October!) for clean HDMI.

Pleased to see some attention...

Re: Any C100 folks using Zacuto Target Shhoter?

I use it with the C300. Very handy - I wouldn't want a rig any larger than this. That extra contact point against the chest/shoulder makes a real difference.

The best part about the C300 base...
