Re: I'm going to compare EA50U and EA50M
Be sure to ask them to look at my emails AGAIN where I gave them very precise dimensions of the sensor area. They were going to send me a few samples to play with, but never did. I guess they...

Re: The New NEX-EA50M NXCAM
Thanks Steven! They LOVE that video! There's also 5 variations of a :30 TV commercial made from that too. (You could probably see them if you go to my vimeo videos...) The "Kingsport" one...

Re: The New NEX-EA50M NXCAM
Hey guys! Here's what I'm hoping. My Canon 60d got stolen so I picked up a Sony a6000. It has a "Exmor APS HD CMOS Sensor" which is an "updated" sensor from what I gather. The good thing... it has...

Re: What setting for video?
I pretty much always disable resample. I've found the motion to be better when disabled when dropping 60p (50 for PAL) into a 30p or 60i timeline for 30p/60i export. I don't notice pixelation near...

Re: What setting for video?
Hey Chris, I use Vegas 12 as well. I film everything in 60p because it reduces rolling shutter/skew vs 24 or 30. One thing you almost always want to do is select all of your EA50 footage on the...

Re: Metabones users - a bit of advice please :)
Yeah it's EF-S. I got the Metabones Smart Adapter III because it is EF-S and because I had a couple other EF-S lenses too. It'll do EF lenses as well. That way I can "cheat" a longer zoom if needed...

Re: Metabones users - a bit of advice please :)
True, there may be occasions I'll need it. The Tamron 17-50 f2.8 is a pretty impressive lens. The ONLY thing I don't like on it is the focus ring is backwards... but I'll get used to it. It sure...

Re: Metabones users - a bit of advice please :)
I just received my MB SmartAdapter III. AWESOME! Getting in a Tamron 17-50 f2.8 tomorrow. My 100 f/2 Canon USM and that cheap 50mm f/1.8 both give great looking quick test footage. I'll end up...

Re: Audio Speaker
I LOVE those headphones! Great sounding and somewhat good at "noise cancelling" in most scenarios (not inside the bowl at the speedway though!)
PS... not doing this race. They've replaced me...

Re: New wedding with the ea50
Hey Steve,
I've experimented a bit with the detail settings. NOT scientific, but I'm noticing some things with it. It's not necessarily "sharpening" as one perceives, it is literally detail...

Re: New wedding with the ea50
Very nice! I may have to try out that PP. Check and see if Edius has a plugin called "Convolution Kernel". I've been playing with that for sharpness instead of the "sharpen" plugin for Vegas. So...

Re: A recent wedding...
They're good microphones. Not the best, but good. I did apply a little compression and EQ adjustments, but I always treat audio line I do video. Nothing is ever just raw.

I'm a magician! I couldn't hide the mic on the officiant, but I did hide the mic on the groom. It was at the top buttoned button on his shirt--on the inside flap. This also served as a wind screen...

Re: Any one used the EA50 in the rain?
Are you serious? Interesting! Luckily, I only have to film bits and pieces. I spent a limited time in the pits and "hot track" time. But definitely have to be on guard! Even in the pits! Victory...
