Re: Please don't change the forum

I know it's been awhile but I've been following this thread and thinking pretty hard about it.

The harsh fact of the matter is that the forum software is indeed long overdue for a badly-needed...

Fellows, I try not to ask for much, but please assume the good faith of others and avoid calling any person's character into question around here.

Inevitable Note from Admin -- I have withdrawn from public view several posts in this thread which were primarily political in nature, or just incredibly poor advice, or made in very bad taste.

I...

I talked to Doug about this at NAB last year and that's *not* how it...

Re: Florida Birds with Panasonic S1H

No need to build a strawman, either.

You went fishing for something specifically out of context and used it as an excuse for confrontation.

Not only does that particular type of logical...

Re: Why do a lot of filmmakers seem to hate deep focus cinematography?

This is the point where I have to interject and describe something that happened several years ago on another forum site in this industry (it's just a similar story; it doesn't involve Ryan at all). ...

Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 now $550 at B&H

I wasn't sure where to post this, since EF lenses fit into a variety of forum categories on DVi -- it is an immensely popular lens around here, for good reason.

B&H has dropped the price on it...

Re: Why do people write the roll on the clapperboard, when no one uses rolls of film

Re: Why do people write the roll on the clapperboard, when no one uses rolls of film

The memory card is the *least expensive* component in the production chain. I can't understand why you'd want to wipe it and re-use it on a daily basis. It's your camera original, and should be...

Re: Why do people write the roll on the clapperboard, when no one uses rolls of film

Well, sure... that's a proper workflow for a Codex.

Re: Why do people write the roll on the clapperboard, when no one uses rolls of film

No serious production should ever do this.

There was a time, about ten or twelve years ago when card sizes were usually 8GB or 16GB, and *if* the number of set-ups per day was very high and *if*...
