Production is never going to be "one size fits all" industry.

I remember training a group on Panasonic NLE called Postbox about 10 years ago. All of the people there had never worked on any NLE...

I'm going to agree and disagree with Greg on this one.

I agree that the VJ concept is inferior in terms of production quality. I have seen reporters fresh out of school over expose and mis white...

The use of smaller cams is really part of the VJ, video journalist, movement in ENG. The concept was proven usable at New York 1 and then Bay News 9 in Florida both used one reporter who also shot...

I'm going to state this from the top, this is only my opinion.

The color space of my final export has never been an issue for me. The advantage to 4:2:2 color space is really only advantageous in...

An Actual Workflow

What seems really solid about this camera is that Sony has taken the time to not only develop a possibly great cam but also develop a true post workflow all the way to delivery.

I don't want to...

Shoot to SxS card and maybe some HD SDI 4:2:2 out to a PC.
Edit the footage to fnished project
Then can we put that finished project to a...

This camera appeals to me because it appears to be a tapeless media with some form of archiving besides HDDs.

Sony dominated the pro market for over 20 years with 3/4 and Beta SP. Ikegami was part of that era but mostly at camera head portion.

Replying to George via Gregs post

George, this is more of an answer. There's no doubt HHD prices continue to drop. Believe me I remember paying thousands for scsi drives in the 90s, but it isn't what I call convenient to have a...
