Re: Need a microphone that won't need voice processor

In this instance I would agree that this is the best option.

The best option is to get the headmic. version (the DPA ones are excellent).

Otherwise tape the miniature mic. to your head using...

Re: recording multiple mics simultaneously

You will need a recorder that includes 4 microphone pre-amps. A lost of the cheaper ones only have two mic. inputs plus 2 line level.

Your $400 budget is extremely low for such a recorder, I'm...

Re: Sennheiser MKH 416 removable front cap. Why?

I have forgotten how the end cap was fixed on - it's definitely not intended to be easily removeable and replacements are available just in the case of damage and can be replaced by an expert.

If...

Re: Tall order from Sennheiser - mobile recording

It's really for broadcasters to record 24/96 quality from a good mic. and immediately e-mail the recording back to base.

Looks you can also control several phones at once.

Re: radio mic, something new in next future?

Well - the new Audio Limited 1010 digital system (http://www.audioltd.com/1010digital/) has just been released.

This is the state-of-the-art at the moment with a miniscule 2ms latency, about 20...

Re: Need recommendations for a good ENG Handheld mic

Not really - the e840 and e935 are Sennheiser's answer to the SM58.

The SM58 has a frequency resoponse designed to cut-through a backing band, which bot the 840 and 935 have.

The 835 is a good...

Re: Need recommendations for a good ENG Handheld mic

Good idea - but the mic to use would be the MD42 or MD46 as these are reporter mics, not the e835 which is really a stage vocal mic.

Re: I need a wireless mic system

Personally I would use a Sennheiser G3 100 series with co-linea anennas at the receiver.

More than $400, though.

Re: Windows 10 corrupting wav files

It's all sorted (or being sorted) now.

It seems Sound Devices set a Microsoft only bit at "1" when it should have been "0".

Microsoft, starting with Windows 10, set this bit at "1" to denote an...

Re: Looking for a good field mic for nature

But will last you through 5 to 10 replacement cameras - you will replace the camera every few years, but you won't need to replace the mic..

Re: Better than replacing my broken headphone cables

As far as I am aware, the 202 is a lower quality ersion of the 212.

Sennheiser used to make several (normally 3) different headphones with basically the same housing, just coloured differently.

Re: Anyone adopt Sennheiser AVX yet?

This is a dangerous habit - I have seen far too many broken lavs by people doing this.

If the lav is still plugged-in, then many people pull the cable too tight and it can break the cabe at the...

Re: Any tricks to reducing hand noise

Loop the cable and hold that as well as the mic - this method does reduce handling noise due to the cable.

Re: Boom stand and boompole

If it's for stand use only - then the best are Latch Lake (http://latchlakemusic.com/) (made in the USA).

I have the 1100 stand myself - it looks like a normal mic stand but is, in fact, a lot...

Re: Studio monitor speakers

Yes - I posted before I read this.

The D5 is the only sub-$1,000 monitor worth getting, IMHO, other than the more expensive D8 (which is also under $1k).

Re: Studio monitor speakers

On that budget I would go for the Equator D5 ( http://www.equatoraudio.com/D5-Studio-Monitors-with-DSP-Pair-p/d5.htm ) - only $399.99 in the USA - excellent quality for the price and better than many...

Re: ew 100 g2 transmitter at 100 mw

Upping the power also ups the spurious emissions.

You will get better range by careful positioning of the transmitter and receiver.

If you are using a mains receiver, use the Sennheiser "shark...

Re: using lectrosonics smb transmitter with a sennheiser ew100 g2 receiver

Yes - very much so.

9 times out of 10 a s/h transmitter, sold on it's own, is likely to be stolen.

Re: using lectrosonics smb transmitter with a sennheiser ew100 g2 receiver

To work with a Sennheiser ew receiver the Lectro will have to transmit Sennheiser HDX noise reduction - if it can't do this it's not compatible, so don't do it.

Re: Need a good shotgun for high noise ENG environment

The directivity of a gun (interference tube) mic. is in direct relation to the length of the tube.

The longer the tube, the more directional the mic. is - the shorter the tube, the less...

Re: Sound Devices 633 inputs 4-6?????

$510 is not expensive for a mic. pre-amp. at all

The Nagra EMP, which was two mic. pre-amps was about x4 this price - thats *twice* the price of the SD, and still not expensive for a good mic....

Re: wiring ew100 sennheiser cable (cl100)

And short ring and sleeve to effect the switch in the transmitter and to minimise noise.
