there is an aperture ring on the lens itself to control the iris manually as the camera has no way to communicate with such lens.

not sure actually. i used that codec on a previous job and was fine with the results. snappier response than original movs and still good quality.
not really worried about quicktime gamma issues at...

either
"RGB = ITU-R BT.601 range"
or
"convert RGB range [0,255] as IRE[0,100]"

i'm not sure which one to use but maybe one of them can fix your...

post production is nice but the optical stage is really important too so check your 2nd...

the 2x anamorphic adapter used was a Kowa prominar anamorphic 16-H also known as 8-Z.
beautifull piece of glass considered by many as the best available scope lens for 16mm/8mm...

160-320-640-1250 are supposed to be the cleanest iso on the 5D and supposedly the 7D too.
shooting wide apertures brings so much more light it is the best solution albeit selective focusing issues....

sometimes it's not so bad either... or was i lucky when picking adapters ?
2 examples with only FDs 35-105 f3.5, FD 15 f2.8, FD 200 f2.8, TS-35 f2.8
