Re: Capturing Brides Vows without using wired mic?

Another way is to remind her before the wedding to stand closer during the vows and speak louder. Apart from audio to the mic, it also let the guests hear what she's saying.

SDE with G-String covered in candy :)

I thought I put that as a title to make it more catchy :P

But this is our latest SDE and we received a very warm compliment from everyone. Any feedbacks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Re: Next-Day-Edit

It depends on your delivery time. My usual highlight edit comes out 1 month after the wedding. Not because it takes that long, just because I'm busy with something else. I think if I put NDE on my...

Re: Comfort Level to go full DSLR

+1 on this.

I just learned this feature few months ago and it has speed up my work drastically. Although this means you have to keep the lens on AF all the time. On some lenses (except the L...

Re: PluralEyes - WOW!

I edit about 5-6 weddings without PluralEyes.. and after trying it on the 7th, I feel so stupid for allowing myself to edit without it. :(

Anyone here uses DualEyes, I'm still running on the...

Re: What's the longest lens you use?

In the past I've used 7D and Canon 70-300mm f4-5.6. A sharp and budget-friendly lens. Combined with the 1.6x crop I get 112-480mm out of it. Just had to stick at f5.6, which is a pain if shooting in...

Re: Anyone producing same-day edits?

Santo, was your latest SDE edited on Premiere? And how many cameras on the ceremony? You covered it from quite a few angles.

Btw, that was an awesome ring shot!! Simple but sweet

Re: VariZoom VZ-FP FlowPod - anyone using

It's got some bad reviews: VariZoom Flowpod Stabilizer System VZ-FP B&H Photo Video

I would recommend Glidecam HD over Steadicam Merlin. Heaps better IMO.

Re: Recommend a starter DSLR to dabble with?

My first lens was Tamron 17-50 f2.8 VC. No complaint picture-wise, in fact I reckon its one of the sharpest zoom lens I've seen. But the focus rings fail.. I cringed everytime I rotate it.. its just...

Re: Do you use digital audio recorders?

2 x Olympus DS30 with Olympus ME15 lav mic for the groom and officiant. 1 x Zoom H1 for recording off the audio board or from the speaker. Although I haven't find the right speed to sync the audios...

Re: Anyone producing same-day edits?

Oh yes.. it doesn't happen every time though, it depends on the crowds. But I once had a fantastic crowd and they cheered and clapped throughout the entire 4 minutes viewing. All those hard work paid...

Re: Newbie's Wedding Highlight - Would love feedback

Hey Raji. It's good that the family likes it. My feedbacks on this piece:

1. I think you need to improve a lot on your story telling skill, the whole video has the feel of just a compilation of...

Re: Anyone producing same-day edits?

I used to include SDE as part of the package. I see it as a beneficial thing having to not worry about editing highlight once I got home.

But, I find it exhausting to do SDE and cover parts of...

Re: new to wedding audio

Not strictly those two combinations. There's many other brands that works just as well. Those are just what I've been using and I like it because its quite small and delivers good quality audio. I...

Re: new to wedding audio

Nic, you just need to know where the audio recorder is going. H4n is great when combined with wireless lav. But if you try to get the groom to pocket it, he might refuse and give you a double...

Re: Not Only Our First DSLR Wedding, But First Wedding EVER! Christi + Daniel Highlig

I think I've tried using that profile. Didn't like it. I've been using standard/portrait profile with a bit of adjustment. Although I'm wondering what software you edit it with and what is the video...

Re: DSLRs: am I just being paranoid?

I notice that there's more ghost flare when I use UV filter. I tend to leave it off my cheaper lenses.

Re: lavalier microphone to a female officiant

Try finding a mobile phone case/clip that fits your Zoom H1. If you can't find one that fits, innovate with some tapes. :)

Re: DSLR users: what model(s) are you using?

Bill, Magic Lanterns allow the DSLR to re-record automatically after 12 mins, shows record time left during recording, shows dB level of the audio, allow monitoring of the audio through the A/V...

Re: Editing other people's work.. your thoughts on my case?

Yeah, most people here don't have that deep Oz accent anymore. Not in the city at least. Down in the rural areas, you'll find tons of them.

I was born in Sydney but bred in Indonesia. But been...

Re: Editing other people's work.. your thoughts on my case?

Chris, I told her you are free.. so she might get in touch if she changes her mind from using my friend. I told her that my friend is very new, so she needs to be aware of the risks before giving him...
